1. Offline-First Architecture & Data Storage
MyYearPlanner is designed as an offline-first application. By default, all calendar events, work shifts, annual leave balances, tasks, and wall planner markup annotations you create are stored locally on your Android device inside a private internal Room SQLite database. We do not operate a central server that collects or profiles your personal calendar entries.
2. Google User Data & Google Calendar API (OAuth 2.0 Limited Use Disclosure)
If you explicitly choose to connect your Google Account for optional 2-way Google Calendar synchronisation:
- Data Accessed: The app requests OAuth 2.0 permission to read and write calendar events (`https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar` / `calendar.events`) so your shifts and notes can stay in sync between MyYearPlanner and your Google Calendar.
- How Data is Used: Your Google Calendar events are synced directly between your Android device and Google's official Calendar API endpoints. OAuth tokens are stored privately on your device.
- No Third-Party Sharing or Advertising: We never sell, rent, transfer, or share your Google user data with third parties, advertising networks, data brokers, or AI training models.
- Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance: MyYearPlanner's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres strictly to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. Camera, Photos & On-Device ML Kit OCR
When you use the Shift Rota OCR Scanner, images you select or capture are processed 100% locally on your device using Google ML Kit Text Recognition (`com.google.mlkit:text-recognition`). Your rota photos are never uploaded to external servers.
4. Public Holiday Data & Payments
- Public Holidays: When fetching regional public holidays, the app queries the public Nager.Date API using only your selected country code and year. No personal data is transmitted.
- In-App Purchases: All Pro upgrades and subscriptions are processed securely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your credit card or payment details.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Because your data is stored locally on your device, you retain full control over it at all times. You can delete individual notes, clear app data, revoke Google Calendar OAuth access, or follow our Account & Data Deletion Guide at any time.
